This event offers something for community and university partners, alike!
During the first part of the workshop, participants will learn about new funding opportunities available from the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships. Attendees will also learn about the many ways of partnering, and how to evolve networking into partnering. The second part of the event is dedicated to bringing together faculty and community members who are interested in forming partnerships for developing community-engaged research and service-learning courses.
Service-learning is a form of experiential learning that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.
Community-engaged research consists of scholarly and teaching activities that are designed jointly, carried out in collaboration and with potential benefit for groups and organizations in local, regional, national, and global communities related to the university.
